With Eircode you are able to access address data for all address points in Ireland.
Eircode offers two data products for purchase;
- ECAF (Eircode Address File) is the base reference data containing over 2.2 million address points with their Eircode and USP Postal Address
- ECAD incorporating ECAF (Eircode Address Database) contains additional data for each address such as, alias address information, geo-coordinates and other data including but not limited to boundary data and building information. The purchase of the ECAF is a prerequisite for purchase of the ECAD (please refer to our Pricing and Licensing Information for more details)
Please note: the ECAF and ECAD do not contain the names of private individuals, personal or personalised data as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 and 2003 and General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
When you purchase an annual licence to use the ECAF and/or ECAD from Eircode you will receive a complete edition of your chosen files at the point of purchase, followed by monthly and quarterly update files. The files will be distributed electronically via our secure customer portal.
Although the Eircode data products do not contain any personal data organisations are obligated to handle data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and 2003, General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and the Communications Regulation (Postal Services) (Amendment) Bill, 2015.
Eircode Product Guides
ECAF and ECAD Product Guides are available to assist with integrating Eircode address data into your own software or business solution. The Product Guides provide a full description of the data structure and all the elements in each record. They also provide software programmers and database administrators the information required to incorporate Eircode data into their IT systems.

How to Buy
For an End User there are two options to obtain Eircode data products;
Directly from Eircode
Eircode for Individual Businesses
If your business has the expertise to create your own in-house solution containing Eircode data and has the ability to capture and report your usage, Eircode data products can be purchased directly as a Direct End User.

By registering your interest a member of our Customer Account Management team will get in touch and can also provide access to product guides, sample data if required, and an application pack.
Please note: a Direct End User can only use the Eircode data products for internal use; they cannot sell or share these products or services with other companies.
From an Eircode Provider
